Newsletter: Presiden Biden Signs Bill to End Forced Arbitration

Dear Friend,

Moments ago, at the White House, President Biden signed into law our legislation to ban forced arbitration for sexual harassment and assault.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of our own Gretchen Carlson, and thanks to your consistent support, the Ending Forced Arbitration for Sexual Assault and Harassment Act is now the law of the land. It has been heralded as a landmark law of the #MeToo movement, and it will change workplace culture across the country for the better.

We couldn’t have done it without your support along the way. Because of you, millions of American workers will have safer work environments, and should they experience sexual harassment and assault, they will no longer be forced into secret, mandatory arbitration, where employers too often sweep bad behavior under the rug to protect abusers at the expense of survivors.

This is a day of great celebration and gratitude. But it is also time to look forward, and to focus our efforts on the important work that still remains: eradicating non-disclosure agreements for toxic workplace issues and ending forced arbitration for the millions more who face discrimination in the workplace. We will not rest until we create a safe workplace for everyone, free of concealment clauses and retaliation that drive too many women, people of color, members of the LGBTQIA community and other traditionally disenfranchised groups from their chosen profession.

Let us today redouble our efforts in support of our goal: to give survivors their voices back, so that they might protect others and make this a safer workplace for everyone. We would be grateful for your support of Lift Our Voices, America’s leading #MeToo advocacy nonprofit, as we continue to fight for the rights of workers across the country

Thank you for your support,
