Newsletter: May 2022 - More Work Ahead

Dear Friend,

This month, we were thrilled to formally announce our Founding Sponsors and supporters, the major donors who have contributed to our mission of making workplaces safer for all. We could not be more grateful for their support to advance our work.

In the months since President Biden signed the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act into law, we continue to promote its benefits to workers. To that end, we authored a post on our Medium page that outlines exactly what the law does and does not do so that both employees and employers clearly understand it.

As we look forward, we are committed to ending silencing mechanisms for survivors speaking out about workplace toxicity. This month, we joined a coalition of other activists to sponsor legislation in New York State to ban NDAs and non-disparagement clauses that cover up workplace toxicity. If you would like to lend your organization’s support to this critical legislation, please sign this petition, which we will share with Governor Hochul and legislative leaders.

Last week, Julie spoke at the Chief Executives for Corporate Purpose (CECP) 2022 summit, Shaping the Future, about the way corporations can best foster inclusive, safe workplace environments. Also, this month, the Sydney Morning Herald profiled Gretchen’s path from journalist to co-founder of Lift Our Voices and high-profile advocate on behalf of survivors.

We’re grateful to all of you for supporting Lift Our Voices and for the opportunity to share our stories so that we can protect and lift up others. We thank you for your generosity and ask you to continue supporting our work to empower workers across the country.
