Our Mission
The mission of LOV is simple: to transform the American workplace, making it safer and more equitable for everyone. By organizing communities to change laws and policies, advocating for survivors, and promoting awareness for a safer and more inclusive workplace environment, we are rewriting the rules to ensure every worker has a voice.
We must make it unacceptable to silence those who only want to work with dignity.
Following their own experiences, Gretchen Carlson and Julie Roginsky heard heartbreaking stories from thousands of people across the country who also faced workplace toxicity. They quickly realized there were two epidemics facing the American workplace: toxic environments and the pervasive use of silencing mechanisms used to cover them up.
So Carlson and Roginsky mobilized and in 2019 created a non-profit dedicated to informing, educating, and advocating for a safer and more equitable workplace for all.
Spearheading two federal landmark bills hailed as among, “the biggest labor law changes in the last 100 years,” LOV is recognized as the leading organization fighting to eradicate workplace toxicity.
But there is more to do. Too often, workers are prevented from disclosing other toxic workplaces experiences like discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability. They too are being silenced through forced arbitration and NDAs.
