Newsletter: August 2022
Dear Friend,
With your support, Lift Our Voices is continuing the hard work of making real, lasting change for millions of workers across America.
As we shared last month, our bill to end predispute NDAs in sexual assault and harassment cases passed the House Judiciary Committee with support from both parties. We will be working with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle and in both the House and Senate to pass this critical bill for workers – just as we did earlier this year with our forced arbitration legislation, which President Biden signed into law in March.
We have spread the word on just what this bill would do, and how it would impact millions of people, through a TV interview with Spectrum airing in stations across the country, and online and on TV with Newsy. Check these out for more information on the change we’re working hard to bring thanks support of members of Congress in both parties—and to all of you.
And we are continuing to share our message at events both in-person and virtually. Gretchen recently spoke to the National Sexual Assault Conference with a panel on creating a more equitable workplace, including an overview of the law to ban forced arbitration in sexual assault and harassment, plus resources and suggestions for advocates that support survivors.
In September, Gretchen and Julie will join several events:
September 7: NDAs: What is the real cost of silencing workers? with the Conference Board
September 13: Fireside Chat with Women in Fund Finance
September 16: Eradicating Business Policies That Hurt Women, a salon with Athena Alliance
September 22: The United Nations Foundation #EqualEverywhere
September 23: Featured speakers at the International Association on Workplace Bullying and Harassment conference
September 30: The Conference Board’s Women Lead Conference
It will be a busy month – and we’re looking forward to sharing the work of Lift Our Voices with so many new and influential audiences!
None of this work would be possible with your support. With success behind us and more on the horizon, we are committed to standing up for all workers, and are continuing to build a movement that makes workplaces safer and more equitable for all.
Thank you,
— Gretchen Carlson & Julie Roginsky | Co-founders, Lift Our Voices
